Job Summary:

Calling HEALTHCARE TRAINER/ES with Clinical Documentation Improvement experience (CDI)!!! REMOTE - CDE One is our AI-POWERED CLOUD BASED Clinical Documentation Excellence solution paired with expert CDI consulting and professional services. We are looking for an experienced trainer/educator that thrives on developing curriculums, educating, mentoring, being a change agent, and leading a team!

The Nuance CDI Training and Enablement Manager coordinates, develops and implements specialized education and development programs aimed at improving individual consultant and organizational performance. Conducts needs assessments, designs, develops, tests, delivers and evaluates education/development for core competencies and innovates for new educational modalities and strategies.

Responsibilities -  *** MUST HAVE CDI & TRAINING EXPERIENCE***

  • Plans, designs, develops, and delivers sustainable strategic education/development and instructional programs, using instructor-led, train-the trainer, electronic/web-based, and/or multimedia education/development methods and formats for the onboarding phase and throughout the career progression of a CDI consultant or CDIS.
  • Conducts needs assessments to identify and evaluate education/development requirements for high impact CDI consultant and CDIS staff training.

  • Conducts and / or facilitates CDI consultant and CDIS education/development programs.

  • Develops education/development materials to include education/development handbooks, job aids, models, multimedia visual aids, computer and web-based tutorials, and standard operating procedures.

  • Researches and studies advancements in educational technologies and methods; evaluates effectiveness of education/development programs, utilizing appropriate data collection instruments and procedures.

Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications -

 Education: - Baccalaureate Degree (RN, RHIA) minimum; Master’s degree preferred;

Minimum years of work experience: RN: 5 years CDI, 3 years trainer/educator in hospital or academic setting, and consulting experience with proven outcomes. Clinical background - Five years in an acute care area such as ED, ICU is preferred. Management experience preferred. OR: RHIA: 5 years CDI, 3 years trainer/educator in hospital or academic setting, and consulting experience with proven outcomes. Management experience preferred. HIM background: Five years of progressive and current inpatient coding, auditing and healthcare reimbursement methodologies. The ideal candidate in either discipline (RN, RHIA) will have combined CDI, training/education (with background in curriculum design, innovative education strategies/modalities and experience in utilizing adult learning concepts), consulting and clinical (acute care setting) background.

Required skills: Experience in deploying and managing education/development programs. Strong program management and delivery skills.

  • ***Must have CDI and curriculum design, implementation and delivery experience in healthcare.***
  • Demonstrated success as a leader who thrives on building a team of experts
  • Dedication to establishing performance excellence in a services and technology enabled services consulting environment.
  • Strong collaborator, influencing and communication skills across cross functional team.
  • Must be able to travel up to 50%.  
  • Ability to interpret educational needs and develop effective instructional media solutions.
  • Offers remedial coaching to close gaps in CDI knowledge and consulting skill based on proven teaching methodologies.
  • Ability to drive development of innovative and creative learning strategies and modalities
  • Ability to function as a change agent and drive transformation

Preferred skills:  

  • JATA Compliant Documentation Management Consulting experience preferred
